Chesterton Academy of The Florida Martyrs Welcomes First Headmaster
Chesterton Academy of The Florida Martyrs is pleased to welcome our first headmaster, Mr. Christopher Moore.
Originally from Texas, Mr. Moore has been traveling the world with the US Navy since he was 19. He retired from the Navy in 2021 as a Lieutenant Commander, and since then has been serving as the Latin teacher at a local Catholic parochial school, as well as serving as a co-founder and board member of CAFM. Mr. Moore earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communciations from Jacksonville University, and a Master of Business Administration from University of Florida.
Shortly after his retirement in late 2021, Mr. Moore's wife Raquel learned about the Chesterton Schools Network via a post on social media. "She said, 'Someone should open one of those in Pensacola,'" remembers Mr. Moore. "We reached out to the Network, started talking with people we had met since moving to Pensacola, and realized there is a real desire in this city for a classical Catholic education. The magnitude of this undertaking, and the obstacles it presents are, for us, quite insurmountable. But we trust in the God who said "'The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.'”
Mr. Moore lives in Pensacola with his wife Raquel, son Huxley, and daughter Hazel Regina Caeli.
